What Are The 4Cs?
The 4Cs Are Cut, Color, Clarity And Carat Weight

Which are the industry grade standards from the Gemological Institute of America (GIA).
Every diamond is specifically graded on these features. At Linkest, our team focus on each of the 4Cs to make sure each diamond appear its bright, beautiful, sparkling at every single time.

Cut

Many people equate the cut of a diamond with its shape (round, heart, oval, marquise, or pear). In reality, the cut grade of a diamond depends on how its facets interact with light. From the rough stone to the finished cut diamond, it takes a complex process and a mastery of cutting, proportions, symmetry and polish to perfectly reveal the diamond's unique sparkle. The cut of a diamond is critical to its appearance and value, and is the most complex and technically demanding of the 4C's of diamond identification. Diamonds we select to use are in the grade of Very Good or Excellent, which is the highest grading standard.

Color

The color of a diamond is actually the degree to which it is colorless. A diamond that is free of inclusions and has a perfect structure is like a pure drop of water, it is colorless and has a very high value. The GIA has created the D to Z diamond color grading system, which identifies the degree of colorlessness of a diamond by comparing it to a colorimetric stone under precisely controlled lighting and observation conditions. The diamonds we use for our jewelry are vary from D to E grades, meaning that only a jewelry expert can detect subtle traces of color in these diamonds, or even that they can receive the degree of completely colorless.

Clarity

As diamonds are formed in the high temperatures and pressures of the earth, they tend to have unique birthmarks; those within the diamond are called inclusions and those on the surface of the diamond are called surface features. Diamond clarity refers to the degree to which it is free of inclusions and surface features. Diamonds without these birthmarks are very rare and its rarity affects the value of the diamond. Using the GIA International Diamond Grading System, diamonds are assigned a clarity grade ranging from Flawless (FL) to diamonds with visible inclusions. Our jewelry is made with diamonds of VS1, VS2 clarity and above, meaning that when viewed under 10x magnifier, there are with tiny inclusions that are difficult to see even for a professional grader.

Carat

The carat is the unit of weight used to measure a diamond. With same conditions, the larger the diamond, the rarer it is. Thus, the price of a diamond usually rises as the carat weight of the diamond increases. However, even if two diamonds have the same carat weight, their value (and price) can vary greatly. This is because the value of a diamond also depends on the other three criteria in the 4C standard for diamonds: clarity, color and cut.
